TO BOOK A HOUSE CONCERT EMAIL: INFO@ZAKTROJANO.COM
House concerts are a great way to experience live music. One of the big plusses for you as a host is that you don’t have to go anywhere! It’s also a safe bet that it’ll be one of the most comfortable shows you’re likely to see. You can sit on your own couch or in your favorite chair, within striking distance of your fridge and your slippers, while in the company of a few good friends. It’s a great deal for the musicians too.We get to perform for an attentive audience, at a reasonable hour. You’d be surprised how rare those conditions are when you’re playing the club circuit.
If you’re considering hosting a house concert, here’s what you need to know:
1.It can be as large or small as you like.If you live in a small space, or just don’t like having lots of folks over to the house (both of which I can relate to), it’s good to know that a house concert can be as small as ten people. Most people charge a sliding scale ticket price of $10-$15.If ten of your friends come to the show,I can usually work it into a small tour to make it financially viable.
2.No stage required! As long as it’s relatively quiet, and there’s a chair to sit in, I can make just about any space work for a performance. From small apartments in Germany packed to the gills, to large seated home theaters, to converted semi trailers in the yard (one of the best yet), all that really matters is that there are interested people there to listen.
3.ITS FREE!You’re paying for the concert by being the host.Just make sure your guests know that there is a sliding scale ticket price of $10-$15 and that the ticket money goes to the musician.
4.You can structure the night however you’d like.I usually play one or two sets, totaling somewhere between 90 minutes and two hours. Most people like to have some sort of dinner, potluck, or cocktails, prior to the show - but it’s completely up to you.A typical house concert might go something like this:Guests arrive at 6 or 6:30 for drinks and potluck.Show starts at 7:30with a set break around 8:15 for refreshments.Music resumes at 8:45 until 9:30 or so.People can hang out as long as you like after the show, or you can be in bed by 10!
That’s really all there is to it.Thanks so much for considering hosting a house concert. If you have any questions or would like to book a performance please get in touch at: info@zaktrojano.com.
